Pool Facilities
Our pool supplied by K9Surf is 3 metres by 2 meters square and is 1.2 metres deep.
One end of the pool is fitted with an adjustable anti-swim jet to create a flow of water, if needed, for the dogs to swim against. The swim jet can be set to different levels offering gentle resistance through to a vigorous workout for the very fit.
The water is heated to a minimum temperature of 28 degrees and is chemically treated and filtered to maintain the highest standard of hygiene to prevent infection.
Water hygiene is extremely important. The pool water is tested and recorded throughout the day to ensure the chemical and pH balance are maintained at the correct levels.
Access to the pool is via a ramp with a non-slip surface.
We use a variety of buoyancy aids, which are used for all dogs when they first come. They will continue to wear a buoyancy aid until such time the dog is strong enough and confident enough to swim without one. We also have harnesses for the more experience dog to swim in.
Dogs are expected to be relatively clean prior to their swim to maintain hygiene and cleanliness, dog that are dirty may be refused entry to the pool or showered for a cost. After their swim, dogs can be showered by their owner and towel dried before going home, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DOGS TOWELS.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear as at times the areas around the pool will become extremely wet.
